Ready for take-off.

Posted in General on June 27, 2008 by Vincent Kremer

After lots of sweating and stressing everything is prepared for vacation , all work is delivered , house is cleansed , photo camera recharged and mp3 player fully loaded. Norway here I come!

Luckily I have some spare time to write one last entry before I vanish for 3 weeks , so what’s up? Well let’s start off with the movie stuff that hit the interwebs shall we?

With my staying in Norway for 3 weeks I won’t be able see the The Dark Knight   debut , so that will have to wait till I get back and I will have to avoid anything Batman related to prevent spoilers or people and internet that will spoil it.

Also , haven’t you heard or seen it yet The Dark Knight is loaded with viral ads like TheHaHaHa Times which is the Joker’s own parody to the original Gotham Times and next to that we have Harvey Dent’s campaign called We Are The Answer and I Believe In Harvey Dent.
And ofcourse you have the 10 different but almost the same superbowl, TV spots and trailers clips to gaze upon.

Next on is the film The Green Hornet which will be in theaters 2010, the film based upon the mased crime detective will be written and starred by Seth Rogan.
The guy that wrote Superbad and Knocked up and the upcoming Pineapple Express , so that should be interesting.

One other movie I really look forwards too is Hellboy 2 which will be in theaters July 11th.
Couple of weeks ago watched the first movie again to freshen up my memory, story and characters, really liking the Aw Crap attitude, they gave him. Anyhow for the people who are just as excited as I am here are two clips to lessen your thirst.

Oh and Wanted debuted today , make sure you don’t miss that , have seen the exclusive clips I’m sure it’s going to be awesome.
And no I haven’t read the comic yet , but I will soon.

Went to see The Incredible Hulk couple of days ago awesome movie and much better than I thought it would be at fist.

I never really was a big Hulk fan but this re-do of the previous Hulk movie changed that, so if you’re planning on going but not sure if it’s worth it , I promise you it is.

Oh and the G.I Joe movie coming in 2009? I honestly don’t know man, never really was into Joe back in the day, but can we trust this guy?

Anyhow! that was it concerning movies , time to switch over to the comics.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’ve bought a bunch of comics I’m sure I will like and will keep me busy for a while , so these are the books I bought.
Gemini #2!
The first one was original , refreshing and on top of all a lot of fun and I can not stress this enough people , if you already haven’t picked up the first issue yet , get it while it’s still in the press and get the second one while you’re at it. You won’t regret it.
Cable & Deadpool Volume 3: The Human Race
Currently the funniest series I’ve read so far, with Cable’s seriousness and Deadpool’s wacky ways of doing and saying things really makes it a first class comedy series.
The New Invaders : To End All Wars
Bought this one because it had Blazing Skull and Union Jack in it, not much to say about it since I’m not really familiar with the Invaders.
The Watchmen
Finally caught it people , after having to remind myself to get it!
Anyhow , really excited to read this massive graphic novel because of the great reviews it was given.
Kill All Parents #1
The thing that spoke to me most in this one , was the art and its freshness it had, this series also received lots of good reviews and positive input.
And that’s it people , my last entry for 3 weeks, when I come back I will give all of the above movies and comics a review so.. stay tuned and see you in 3 weeks!
Not dead.
Aw Yeahz
I’m currently in a bid over this box of 150 comics , they are properly all random comics though but I don’t mind. It gives me something to do , anyhow my highest bid so far is 10 bucks and am with that so far the highest. It Lasts 6 days ( started today ) I am not planning to to bid over 20 bucks though since I have my own comic wanted list as well.
Review : Marvel Zombies #1
Posted in Comics, Marvel, Review Archieve with tags , on June 16, 2008 by Vincent Kremer
I started reading this because I thought it could be fun but unfortunely the first issue of Marvel Zombies was a disappointment with a pretty boring start and weak humorous comments and jokes.
The first page shows us a introduction what caused them to turn into zombies which is in my opinion very vague and not so interesting, anyhow like the intro tells us is Magneto the only survivor left after The Fantastic Four went send into an alternate dimension where they are stuck for all freakin’ eternity because Magneto destroyed the Warp Machine to prevent the zombie Flash in the sky force, figuring out he hasn’t much longer to live as well.
So eventually the Marvies meet up with Magneto , Magneto tries to flee but the zombie squad of hunger chases him.
With Zombie Colonel America (who is for some reason Colonel in the zombie universe ) on his tail he grabs his shield and magusfies it through the head of Captain America who crashes onto the ground where he finds Spider-man with a broken leg.
With America on the ground he takes the change to flee and stops some blocks further, however Hawkeye Zombie awaits him there and shoots Magneto , but Magneto is one bit faster and decapitates Hawkeye with America’s shield, Just like that.
Magneto has the upperhand this time , until he was caught off-guard by Zombie Wasp and bites a chunk out of his neck, seeing that Wasp is having dinner the other zombies start to whine the would like to have a piece as well and that she should save something for the rest of the zombie crew.
Zombie Thor and Hulk don’t waste time and both grab magneto, with the Hulk grabbing his leg and rips it off like it’s made out of playdough.
And because Zombies apparently are whiny bitches , Giant Zombie Antman whines about that the hulk has his whole leg and suggest for a share with Hulkazombie only replying with “okay” , which is weird because The Hulk never shares food.
Agreed on the share they all feast on Magneto’s corpse if it’s an all you can eat sparerib restaurant.
When done feasting upon the flesh of the fallen they all sit down to talk about how their zombie stomachs aren’t working like it’s suppose , and ofcourse zombies are bitchy and whiny creatures Zombie Spidey turns all emo because just now he asks himself why he ate his aunt and his wife and asks god to die. * sigh * Zombies.
They continue their zombie-wise chatting about a bone sticking out of Bruce’s stomach because he changed back to Bruce after eating , causing also his stomach to schrink and not creating enough room for the bones of foodyfied Magneto.
However they got interubted because Zombie Luke Cage sees something in the sky , which is no other than… * drum roll*
Yep, Silver Surfer and with the show-up with the silver fellow ends this issue.
My slice of cheese
Like I mentioned above I started reading the zombie series because I thought zombies could be fun, if used correctly and in a good way. However the first issue wasn’t that interesting story or humor wise because it didn’t feel like an actual marvel comic , instead it felt like a bad fanfic with a weak attempt of humorous jokes, another thing this issueis lacking.
However i’m not judging this series yet since this was only the first issue and it would be unfair to judge it only by it’s pilot , so yeah. Stay tuned for the next review.
Review: Last Defenders #1
Posted in Review Archieve with tags , , , on June 13, 2008 by Vincent Kremer
I have to be honest and admit I purchased these three because I liked the covers , and had no idea what the this series was about what I usually check first. But I’m glad I did because these new mini series loosely based upon the first defenders was good crazy fun.
The story kicks off with Nighthawk having a fight with one of the grimm brothers , also known as Grimes.
Once knocked down Nighthawk meets up with Gargoyle again his only team member at that time , after a small chat up Gargoyle decides to depart from the two man team and go his own way, Nighthawk tries to convince him to stay and tells him he has a appointment with Tony Stark, but Gargoyle puts his foot down and takes off.
Once arrived at the Defenders Tower Nighthawk suggests to Tony to set up a new defenders new called The Last Defenders.
Tony approves but reminds him the past team ups were everything but successful,
Tony pro-claims  he is the expert in putting together teams and introduces Nighthawk the new Defenders Team, also called The New Jersey Defenders.
* Drum roll *  Yup , it’s Blazing Skull and Colossus. After a short introduction to one each other Nighthawk asks he this is it , Tony tells him there is someone else he had in mind but didn’t sent an invite yet because it might be harder to convince.
Some hours later Nighthawk catches up with the last remaining member to recruit, howover easier said than done, because the person is none other than…She-Hulk.She-Hulk states before Nighthawk can say anything that she is not in the slightest interested in joining up with any Police state or SHIELD activities.
Nighthawk tries to convince but with the wrong words he gets the full load.
Next thing we see is Son of Satan having a conversation with  The Ancient one,  you know ..the old geezer that helped Stephen ( Doctor ) Strange to find his hidden powers within him.
The conversation is somewhat vague but it involves Son Of Satan to become the next Sorcerer Supreme.
We meet up with the crew again which are having a meeting discussing their objective but leads to a disaster of name calling and yelling. The only one that is sane in this meeting is She-Hulk who joined up after all.
Anyhow , they get their first mission: Locating Field team leader Pennysworth.
Meanwhile at the Serpent Headquarters they are having some kind of ritual which gives humans enchanced abilities by injecting stuff, also it really hurts.
meanwhile the team arrives and busts through the roof with an exploding entrance, kicking and punching the serpent troopers too the other side, while rampaging through the troops of serpents they didn’t realize the ballroom they barged in was next to a casino and  smashed the troops through the doors into the casino where innocent people did their money earnings and losses.
Nighthawk grabs one of the Serpent troopers and threatens to tell him where their leaders are , the trooper tells him that they must tend the Altar , otherwise they can’t control Quetzalcoatl.
Before the team could wonder what a Quetzalcoatl was it was already too late and the Coatl was unleased.
And that people , leaves us with the ending of the first Issue of The Last Defenders.
My Slice Of Cheese
Never heard anything about The Last Defenders I did not know what to expect and purchased this series out of curouisty and liking the cover pages ( Nighthawk looked cool ) , but I really liked the randomly selected Powerhouse team.
This series also introduced me to some new characters I was not familiar with , like Blazing Skull who became one of my favorite characters so far, She-Hulk who is unlike the Hulk own willed and smart and well Colossus always keeps his cool. The only one thing that keeps this one from being awesome is that Tony Stark is in it again , telling himself he is an expert in everything.
Judgement: 4 out of 5 Cheeses.
